Girls Varsity Basketball · Introducing the New Staff for the Lady Rams Girls Basketball Program

The 2019-20 season is quickly coming upon us and the excitement for what is happening with the Lady Rams Girls Basketball team is the talk of the town. We wanted to take this time to introduce you to the new staff leading the charge.

Our new Head Coach, Quentin “Coach Q” Taylor, has been hard at work with the girls since the summer. Installing his love and passion for the game came natural for the long time coach from the Central Ohio area since he jumped all in back in June. Coach Taylor honed his craft under the direction of one of Central Ohio’s legendary coaches from Brookhaven, mentor Bruce Howard. With the passing of Coach Howard, Coach Taylor continued mentoring and coaching young men at Johnson Park Middle School, Whitehall Yearling High School boys and several AAU programs. When offered the opportunity to take over the Girls Varsity team, Coach Taylor sought advise from his trusted group of advisers, his beautiful wife, and support network. They all assured him he was up to the task of switching over to the girls side. Having never coached girls basketball, the initial hesitation has quickly vanished as his time in the gym with our great group of ladies has left Coach Taylor greatly honored to have the opportunity to invest in, challenge and lead both on and off the court. Coach Taylor is also leading by example in his dedication to education while he currently is closing in on his second Master’s degree. Whitehall Yearling certainly made a great choice with Coach Taylor and his #StayFocused is the mantra.

Every great coach knows the recipe for success is in the people they surround themselves with. Coach Taylor has hand picked quite a strong group of assistants full of loads of passion and experience. First up we have Coach Monte “Coach Te” Ward. Coach Ward’s energy is felt as soon as he walks into the gym.  His love for the game is evident in every workout, every huddle and every encounter he has with the staff and Lady Rams players.  A successful and celebrated stand-out Central Ohio player from Independence High School, Coach Ward has been Coaching since 2008. Coach Ward is a phenomenal Player Development Coach whose attention to detail is sure to take each of our Lady Rams to a new level. It’s not surprising that his philosophy is “Hard work doesn’t promise you anything but without it you don’t have a chance”, as he no doubt pushes our players and challenges them each time they step on the floor. Great pick up by Coach Taylor for sure! #BigFacts

Next up we have Allen Gullick II, “Coach G”. Also, a long time player of the game, Coach G started his Coaching career in 2015 at his alma mater, Independence High School. Recognizing his love and commitment for the game, Coach G has now dedicated his time to not only coaching the game but giving back to the community as a leader and mentor to the youth community.  Coach G is thrilled to be with the Lady Rams basketball team and can’t wait to see what the season has in stored.

Finally to finish up the Lady Rams staff, Coach Cynthia Mobley. Coach Mobley, another central Ohio graduate from Northland High School, played Division 1 basketball at Stetson University, became a Graduate Assistant at her alma mater and has been coaching Women’s and Girls basketball since 1997. Coach Mobley was the Head Coach at Valor College, Beechcroft High School, (WHCA) Harvest Prep, and National Travel Teams. Like all of the Lady Rams, Coach Mobley has invested her life into the lives of her players and she is passionate about how sports in the lives of young women impact the building of the future female leaders of tomorrow. Coach Mobley feels extremely blessed that Coach Taylor invited her to be a part of this exciting new adventure here at Whitehall Yearling High School and is looking forward to being a support to his BIG vision for the program.

It’s an exciting time here in the Lady Rams program and we look forward to the community coming out and seeing some great hoops action this winter season. #GoLadyRams #SomethingBigIsHappeningHere
