Rams News · WYHS Boys Soccer wins 2-1 on an away game against fellow D1 opponent Logan High School. JV also wins 3-2.

The Boys Soccer program improves its winning record to 2-0 as they edge out a tough opponent in Logan High School. The Rams began the game on the offensive as they maintained consistent pressure on their opponents. After a few deflections on some shot attempts, the ball lands on Senior Ebrima Jorbateh and he finds the back of the net on a good shot from the top of the box.  The Rams continued to maintain ball possession, pressure and pristine passing as they controlled the tempo of the first half.  Senior Yared Yesuf was also instrumental in earning a win by producing great effort and constantly keeping Logan’s defense on their heels. The Rams entered the game at halftime, leading 2-0. The Rams created very good scoring chances  in the second half, as the offense was led by Junior Jesus Yanez. The Rams were unlucky not to increase the lead.  Logan High school showed good character and effort as they battled their way in.  Senior keeper Edwin Gutierrez has a stellar performance but was beaten on goal with 12 minutes remaining as the score becomes 2-1.  The Rams kept their composure and were able to minimize the chances of Logan. The defense was once again led by the captain and leader of the team, Jefferson Martinez who controlled the tempo of the game by his intelligence play and constant leadership in key moments.  The Rams look to continue their winning streak as they host Pickerington Central High School for their first home gameon Thursday for a JV and Varsity contest at 715pm.
