Rams News · WYHS Boys Soccer defeats Hilliard Davidson 2-1 to improve to 6 Wins and 2 Losses, while playing with 10 players for 60 minutes.

WYHS Boys Soccer took a major step forward tonight by defeating Hilliard Davidson 2-1 in a very important Division 1 game. WYHS came into the game after defeating Lancaster 6-0 over the weekend.  Jesus Yanez puts Whitehall up 1-0 within  the first 10 minutes by scoring a clinician finish within the box.  Hilliard initiated pressure on the Rams, but the Rams countered with a precise finish. While facing adversity, the Rams continued their offensiveness, and junior Daba Hordofe earned a penalty for the Rams through his relentless effort and the Ram grit. Senior Ebrima Jorbateh finished the penalty with a beautiful top upper 90 shot that put the Rams up 2-0.

Davidson pressured the Rams in the second half and did an effective job of utilizing their advantage by diminishing the ball and pace of the game in the second half.  The Rams were led on defense by senior Jefferson Martinez who dictated the defense and played like the leader he is.  Goalie Edwin Martinez has a phenomenal game in the box and denied the wildcats many scoring opportunities.

Great Job Rams and Keep it up. Next up, Worthington Christian on Saturday.
